A welcome news release from the City Council:
PUBLIC toilets at Coleridge Recreation Ground are set to stay open across the winter season, following requests from park users.
Last year £289,000 of S106 funding from developers’ contributions was invested by Cambridge City Council in upgrading and adding to the park’s facilities, including the installation of new play equipment, a multi-use games area and an additional tennis court.
This has seen the number of visitors to the park increase, especially at weekends when many families visit.
In previous years, the toilets there have been closed for winter, but following requests from the public, the council, which manages the popular park, has decided that the toilets will stay open seven days a week, all year round,
This is in line with other public toilet facilities in the most-used parks and open spaces.
Cleaning schedules at the 20 public toilets managed by the council have been changed to allow the Coleridge Recreation Ground toilets to remain open, and to be cleaned twice a day across the winter.
