Catherine was a teacher for many years, including 23 years on the Long Road Sixth Form College site. She also worked as a Field Officer for the teachers union ATL. Catherine represented Romsey on the City Council from 1998 to 2016, she was Executive Councillor for Housing from 2003 to May 2014 and then Lib Dem Spokesperson on Planning and Transport. She was Deputy Leader of the Council from 2006 to 2014 and Deputy Leader of the Lib Dem group on the City Council from 2014 to 2016.
Simon came to Cambridge as a student, and now works for a software company based in Cambridge. He first joined the Liberal Democrats in 2013, and stood in the city council elections in 2015. He is passionate about getting more people involved in local politics, and is a semi-professional musician, playing the cello, in his spare time.
Rob has lived in Romsey since 2002. He’s worked in both commercial and academic environments, mainly involved with systems and IT, and is currently responsible for information & communications at Downing College. He is happily married to a foreigner and they have two young children, both in local schools. He has had several hobbies and interests and hopes to be able to recall what they were once the children have left home..
Was City Councillor for Romsey Ward from 2010 to 2014. Was Vice-chair of both the Environment Scrutiny and Development Plan Scrutiny Sub-Committees; Member of both the Planning and Licensing Committees. Deputy Mayor for 2012-13. Mayor 2013-14. Previously worked for Eastern Electricity; Norwich Union; and Anglian Water in various IT roles. Also worked as a Sales Consultant for Cambridge Wine Merchants. Joined the Liberal Party in Ipswich in the 70s : member of the constituency party executive and briefly treasurer; Council candidate in St John’s Ward (Ipswich). An active trade unionist in the 70s and was a member of NALGO branch executive. Memberships include the British Computer Society; Cambridge PPF; Cambridge Cycling Campaign; Cuba Solidarity Campaign .
