Romsey Councillor Paul Saunders has thanked colleagues for supporting new investment in the Coldham’s Lane area of Romsey.

Recent approvals include:

• Substantial County Highway funding to improve pavements and drainage along Coldham’s Lane
• City funding to plant new trees along the Common between the railway bridge and Coldham’s lane play area
• City Council investment to refurbish parts of Ross Street Community Centre including improving toilets and kitchen

Cllr Saunders said: “It’s good to see both City and County both recognising the need of North Romsey. The funding already approved and the projects short-listed at the recent East Area meeting will to make a big difference to residents in the area. The approval of the investment in Ross Street Community Centre is particularly welcome as it will, particularly,  meet the needs of children’s groups. This is a great need in Romsey especially for residents of north Romsey, some of whom are amongst the most deprived in the City. ”

He added: “I’d particularly like to thank County Cllr Kilian Bourke, whose has worked long and hard to deliver necessary highways funding to this area”.
