Nichola’s three-point plan for Chisholm Trail cycle route

by Paul Saunders on 21 June, 2015

Having already secured over £8 million for the Chisholm Trail cycle and pedestrian route, Nichola and the local Lib Dems have set out an ambitious three-point plan for the project.

Nichola is keen to see the route fulfil its full potential and become more than just an ordinary highways scheme.

As part of the three-point plan, Nichola wants:

  • the Trail to be built on both sides of the rail track from the very beginning.
  • excellent access links to it from Romsey, including William Smith Close, the housing Co-Op, Great Eastern Street, and along Cromwell Road.
  • the Trail to be an attractive environment, with trees, benches, public art, as well as cafes and other community facilities.
Nichola is working to ensure the Romsey community gets maximum benefit from the Chisholm Trail.

A PLEASANT PLACE FOR RESIDENTS ..

Commenting on her ambitious vision, Nichola said: “My plan will allow local people to get to and from school and work more easily, and make it a pleasant place for residents to go for a walk. We can’t rest on our laurels with this. I will fight to ensure the route lives up to its full potential.”
