Hello Neighbourhood residents.
Here is a breakdown of what has been going on in your neighbourhood since the 01/07/2015
Burglaries
There has been 4 reported burglaries
Overnight on the 2nd July to the morning of the 3rd July, entry gained to a dwelling in Nuttings Rd by an insecure front door.  Purse and mobile phone stolen.
Between 09:30 on the 4th July and 07:00 on the 6th July, entry gained to a dwelling in Brampton Road by forcing entry to a rear door.  Cash was stolen and possibly other items.
Overnight on the 13th July a shed was broken into on Vinery Road, A cycle has been stolen.
Overnight on the 28th July, entry to a kitchen window has been attempted, the shed has been broken into and contents removed.
Please can I remind residents to make sure windows and doors are secured when leaving your property and also whilst at home particularly in the evening when you are not intending to leave your property again.  If you have any tools please keep them locked and secure. The MO that is often used to gain entry into a victims address is with their own tools that are either left lying around in the front/back garden or insecure sheds.
Violent crime
On the 10th July between 16:00hrs and 16:30hrs on Mill Road, a violent altercation has occurred.  Suspect on crime is being dealt with
On the 15th July between 17:00 and 17:30hrs, a physical altercation has occurred between two males in Wycliffe Road.  Unknown suspect.
On the 17th July at 22:30hrs in Vinery Road, Male has been victim of a racially aggravated offence.  Suspects are unknown.
Vehicle crime

Between the 20th and 21st July unknown offender has stolen items from the exterior of vehicle which was parked on Catharine Street.
Between the 22nd and 24th July entry has been attempted via forcing the side door, this was unsuccessful.  The entire exhaust has been stolen.  Vehicle was parked on Brampton Road.
Between the 25th and 27th July, both front and rear index plates have been stolen from a vehicle parked on St Philips Road.
Cycle theft
This month there has been 7 reported cycle thefts in Petersfield.
Please can I remind people to make sure bikes are locked and secure even if they are in a shed or gated garden. Can I also recommend that if you own a bike you can register it for free on www.immobilise.com or keep a record of the frame number.
Please also be aware that a number of cycles reported stolen have been left locked, however the locks have been cut off with bolt croppers.  Please consider purchasing a very strong lock, I would recommend this as a good investment when using a bicycle to travel in Cambridge City, as cycle crime makes up a big percentage of crime stats.
Shop theft
There have been 6 reports of shop theft. If you see anyone acting suspicious or have any concerns in stores please inform a member of staff or security. These thefts have all been reported by Sainsbury, Brooks Road
Theft
There have been 3 reports of property being stolen from victims. Please remember not to leave personal property in view of thieves, Property in jacket pockets hanging on the back of a chairs and handbags hanging on the back of shopping trolleys should be avoided.
Theft from motor vehicle
Remember to remove all personal property from your vehicle as this will deter thieves from damaging your vehicle to get access to your belongings.
If anyone has any information, has a crime to report or saw anything during the time of the mentioned offences please can you call 101. Thank you
East Neighbourhood Team
