A message from Cllr Smart ..

Dear fellow Romsey resident,

I am writing to let you know that refurbishment work to improve the pedestrian crossing on Coleridge Road (near the junction with Greville Road) will be starting next week.

I have been informed that the work will take four weeks to complete and that a temporary crossing will be installed while the work is carried out.

The work is part of a County-wide programme to replace out of date equipment on crossings and improve their reliability. There have been occasions recently when the present equipment at the crossing has been unreliable, so this work is welcome.

I hope this work doesn’t inconvenience you and your neighbours. If you have any other issues you’d like me to help with, please do contact me on the details below.

P.S. Local Liberal Democrats have long argued that a long-term highways maintenance
programme is needed to save taxpayers money, as it would reduce the need for
expensive emergency repairs. We will continue to fight for this.
