Real-time on the Broadway

by Paul Saunders on 28 April, 2016

Real Time 1a docAfter a long wait because of electricity problems, two “Real-time” bus-stop screens have sprung to life.

The stop for buses going to Addenbrookes on the Broadway and the stop of the other side of Mill Road, by the Baptist Chapel for city centre bound buses, are now giving information about when the next bus is coming.

“Real-time” signs give a much better idea of when a bus will be coming than the ordinary timetables and can be particularly useful when the service has long gaps.

“I welcome the signs,” comments Cllr Catherine Smart.  “We need to make the buses easy and convenient to use and knowing when the next bus is due is part of that.

“I have been campaigning for a long time for every single bus stop in Romsey to have Real-time screens.  I think there are still two to go – one on the south side of Coldhams Lane by the gate to the allotments and one on the north side of Mill Road by the site for the new Mosque.  I will continue pressing for these to be done.”
