On Thursday 13 October at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court the resident was ordered to complete a community order and to pay full costs of £639 for dumping waste, which is a criminal offence under section 34 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.

The court heard that a council enforcement officer discovered household items had been dumped on Campkin Road.  The resident pleaded guilty and said that she had paid someone to collect the waste and wanted to dispose of it legally, but the person she had paid failed to collect the waste.

She entered a plea of guilty and was ordered to complete a community order with a curfew from Thursday to Sundays, between 9pm and 6am, whilst being tagged and monitored for four weeks. She was also ordered to pay full costs of £639.
